ABOUT CHATTY

“EXERCISE gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, and happy people just don’t kill their husbands.”

Elle woods - legally blonde

as most of my big life decisions start, i had had a few drinks with friends, came home and confidently signed up to a marathon (never having run a mile before). i had recently watched run fat boy run and seemingly ‘drunk chatty’ was very motivated by this movie. unfortunately the next morning I woke up with an aching head and an email with the subject line: ‘congratulations on entering the brighton marathon’.

well, i’m not one to not GIVE SOMETHING A GO, so i found my running shoes and started running around the field with my family dogs. i remembered my old gym teachers words during any of those awful cross country runs at school saying run 10 steps walk 10 steps, so that is how i started. I soon moved to london for work and got into the habit of running home from work which was 8 miles!! go me and was really enjoying it. I RAN that marathon, i wasn’t the quickest but I did it. and want to know the best bit? I kept running after…

i had a friend who was going through a hard time and i would run to her house and drag her for a run or a walk together each night. i could see the effect that this basic EXERCISE and company was doing for her. I was really helping her and i remembered elle woods’ words of wisdom “EXERCISE gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy and happy people don’t kill their husbands” and i thought to my self… i CAN do this.

a few years later, on New Years Day Here i was again sat in the kitchen table nursing a hangover and talking with a friend. Together we discussed up the wish to run retreats. I then went away that day with a head filled with ideas and i started making a list of what i needed to be in order to make this dream a reality.

i signed up to become a personal trainer, and studied while working full time as a property manager. i passed those exams with flying colours and quickly escaped the crazy world of property and switched to a job in a high end london gym…and the rest is history!!!!!

the moral of this tale? it is never Too late to change your story, and something that scares you might be the start to a whole new amazing life.
